Small Thought: About Pushhands
from Ma Jianglin, grandson of Wu Jianquan
The tradition of Tai Chi Chuan knows a lot of pushhands-techniques. One should train them all, to develop a great repertoire. If you train with a partner, it is important to change between the techniques all the time. This is often a problem for the students. They insist on one techniques and want to finish with it - without a reaction to the movements of the partner. The ability of changing between techniques is very important and is based on a lot of experience. The daily practice of pushhands is the best way here.
